The Stone Roses' Ian Brown 'wipes bottom' with English flag onstage in Denmark

Ian Brown reportedly wiped his bottom with an English flag at a The Stone Roses gig in Denmark on Saturday night (June 16).

Towards the end of the performance at NorthSide Festival, Brown reportedly saw one fan waving an English flag and asked him to throw it onstage. "That's the fucking pope’s flag! Not cool, man!" he said into the microphone as he threw the flag on the floor and jumped on it before miming the wiping of his backside with it, according to Danish music website Gaffa.

The band then went onto play 'Made Of Stone' before an extended version of 'I Am The Resurrection' closed the set.

Last week, The Stone Roses confirmed that all their summer shows are still going ahead, despite frontman Ian Brown calling the band's drummer Reni a 'c**t' onstage in Amsterdam - which you can watch footage of below.

He told the audience at the Heineken Music Hall at the end of the set: "the drummer's gone home... I'm not joking, the drummer's gone home. Get all your aggro out on me, I can take it." He added: "What can I say, the drummer's a c**t."

Last night was the band's sixth comeback show ahead of a series of sell-out homecoming gigs in Manchester's Heaton Park at the end of this month, as well as a string of European festival performances. It follows a surprise comeback gig on May 23 in Warrington - which was their first performance in 16 years.
